Introductory Massage
When you arrive, we'll ask you to fill out an intake that will allow us to customize the massage to meet your needs. (The intake time does NOT count towards your massage time.) You can also download the intake off our Homepage, fill it out and bring it with you.
After the massage, your therapist will let know which muscles could be involved in your pain/tightness/tension issues. Then your therapist will explain how your problem areas were addressed and will have suggestions for helping you to stay out of pain.
Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage can help combat the stress of daily life by helping to turn off our habitual flight-or-fight response and give our minds and bodies a break from stress hormones. But there's more to relaxation massage than a one time serotonin and dopamine bump-up.
When done regularly, relaxation massage can be an important tie-in to adhering to a wellness program. In other words, one healthy habit leads to other healthy habits. Having a lot of healthy habits keep you on the wellness path. If you happen to stray, having healthy habits that make you feel good, like relaxation massage, help get you back on track fast.

So, to get you maximum pain relief, in addition to doing a comprehensive intake, we do a palpation assessment during the massage which provides us with the best information to establish the appropriate pressure and work a customized plan. Ultimately, you, the client, are in charge of what pressure feels best to you.
Fibromyalgia and neck/back pain clients often seek out pain relief massage during flare-ups and/or as part of a pain management routine.

Serious and casual runners, bikers, swimmers, golfers and tennis players use sports massage for muscle recovery and performance optimization. Sports massage can have elements of both specific work (e.g., focusing on tight calves) and general body work.
Sports massage right before a workout or competitive event is geared to provide the athlete with the feeling of muscles "ready to go". So that typically means less focus work and more general work. Sports massage right after a competitive event typically involves some focus work on highly taxed muscles.
Sports massage as part of a training regiment typically combines elements of specific and general work. If you are recovering from an injury and working with a PT facility, we'll coordinated care with that facility to make sure that we're all on the same page.
