Yoga
When you searched for Phoenixville yoga, you may have been surprised to find PressurePerfect Massage offers yoga. But it's really not that big of a stretch (no pun intended) for the two to be under one roof. After all, both are used to reduce pain, improve a person's sense of well being and are often part of a self-care practice. In fact, many of our clients who receive massage also practice yoga as part of their wellness routine.
The Wellness Puzzle
That said, we see Phoenixville yoga as an important piece to the wellness puzzle for all who are open to it. In other words, we believe that yoga is not just for people who are naturally good at yoga. We believe yoga is for golfers and tennis/pickleball players and gardeners, too. Essentially, we believe Phoenixville yoga is for everyone (especially yoga beginners) who wants to feel good and perform better.
The Yoga Research
But that's what we say - what does the research say? Well, according to Healthline: "Some of the many scientifically proven benefits of yoga include improved flexibility, strength, and mental health."
More specifically, if you are 60+, a study published in The Journal of Aging and Physical Activity found that yoga significantly improved flexibility, balance, and coordination in older adults, helping them perform daily activities with greater ease and less discomfort (Harmer et al., 2014).
If you are a pain-sufferer, yoga has been shown to reduce chronic pain, particularly in conditions like osteoarthritis, which is common in the 50+ population (Brennan et al., 2010).
Last, research suggests that yoga can help manage stress and improve mental well-being, which is equally important for the overall health at any age (Cramer et al., 2013).
Of course, that doesn't mean "going to a yoga class" is a panacea for all health ailments. But what it does mean is practicing yoga can help improve your quality of life, physically and mentally, (with no bad side-effects) while giving you a sense of control and the support of a community of like-minded people. Not bad medicine, huh?

Yoga at PressurePerfect Massage
So, here's how we approach Phoenixville yoga at PressurePerfect Massage. Your first class will be Yoga Foundation. This class is designed to get everyone on the same page with the basics of yoga. A solid yoga platform allows for the participants to grow in their yoga practice safely and without injury.
Some participants have chosen to make Yoga Foundation their weekly yoga class. That's great! But others may want to attend other yoga classes that we will roll out in the near future. Our yoga surveys have been tallied, and we are putting those classes together now.
